Falconwood's colonial style veranda leads into a warm and welcoming hall, with an attractive mix of Victorian and modern furnishings together with original paintings enhanced by butter yellow walls, gold coloured carpets and cream rugs.
Falconwood's delightful lounge in the same butter yellow palette, is light and airy with a large picture window through which to enjoy the views across the Solway Firth to Dumfries and Galloway. This view can change from day to day, hour to hour and on clear nights, the lights of Scottish coastal villages can be seen shimmering in the distance.

Whilst they enjoy a pre-dinner drink guests are invited to relax in Falconwood's tastefully furnished lounge with its comfortable sofas and armchairs. On warmer evenings, a small wooden deck is available through the lounge's patio doors to enjoy a drink 'al fresco'. Alternatively, the wooden balconied veranda which runs across the front of the property is also a pleasant area to sit and enjoy a drink on a warm, sunny evening.
The views of the Western Lake District from all these locations are superb and the renowned Solway Sunset can be seen in all its glory and variation from here.
For both breakfast and evening meals, guests at Falconwood, are invited to dine in the main dining room, around the large mahogany table, surrounded by charming Victorian furniture. As with the lounge, this room has a variety of local artists' paintings and also enjoys fabulous views across the Solway Firth.
A variety of books are available in the dining room and lounge for guests to read whilst staying at Falconwood and a wealth of tourist information is also provided. Hosts Ian and Dawn, will also be delighted to advise you of local tourism attractions as well as where to shop, golf, fish, walk, ride or swim etc. |
